New Year resolutions for 2016


I think it’s safe to say that I went a little overboard with my New Year’s resolutions in 2015. I have learnt my lesson and this year I am making just three. Three very easy, achievable resolutions that are not ideals or nice to haves – they are three very definite things that need to happen. I will be strict and I will stand firm.

Quite simply, without any faff or fuss, my three resolutions for 2016 are

  1. Keep some weekends free
  2. Listen to more music and podcasts
  3. Read more books

They’re quite self-explanatory really. Part of the move to the country is to force me to ‘do’ less. I want to spend some of my weekends with family, some with friends, some being crazy busy and others being crazy silent. I want calm, I want books, I want lie-ins, and I want more calm. (Starting to sound a bit greedy now…)

The decision to focus on music, books and podcasts is because I spend a lot of time staring at screens (who doesn’t?) and I get so much inspiration and happiness from the aforementioned pastimes yet rarely indulge.
