How to use your instagram photos

If you’re anything like me, you have a huge collection of photos on your phone and in your Instagram account but not that many printed out. I’m not a master photographer or anything, but there are some photos I’ve taken that I’m really proud of and that evoke really wonderful memories, so I thought it was about time I displayed some of them.

I decided to go back through the photos of every photo holiday I’ve had with the boy in the last six years. I chose one photo from each trip, a photo that perfectly summed up the holiday and that I would instantly associate with the location. Only one of the photos is of us, it snuck its way in against my better judgement because I love it.

I used Polargram to print the photos, which links directly to your Instagram account. I bought some patterned string, a new black marker and some small wooden pegs and started to write the name of the place and the year on each photograph. I know there are companies who print writing on your Instagram pictures, but I wanted a home-made feel to the pictures.

This made me realise how many incredible places we’ve been to over the last few years – and how many more I still want to go to. Who know what other pictures will be hanging from this string in another six years.
